Everybody knows the phrase "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and its intended message - that each of us
sees beauty differently or in different things. I actually believe the phrase is exactly correct when taken
literally. The shape of the inside of the eye defines how we feel about what we see. Being a spherical shape, the
eye is drawn toward things that are of similarly round shape. Jagged, messy, or awkward objects have an adverse
effect on how we feel when looking at them. Therefore, it should be no surprise that the eyes themselves, when
viewed by someone else's eyes, are particularly captivating. The very organ that senses visual beauty is the
perfect example of it.
I invite you to behold... the eye and the beauty therein.
